God damn, I wish I could say I didn’t believe a word of this. But this is so well-argued, and like your theory of the spirit world (which I’ve started to further explore, having just read a book on NDE), the conclusion of this essay is a very thing to imagine. Somehow, though the hypothesis seems crazy and far-fetched, you always manage to get me thinking more deeply.

Concisely details something that is extremely hard to explain. Everyone with eyes and ears willing to see and hear should be aware of the content of this essay.

Amazing stuff, Tao. Very fascinating. As another questioner asked, I’m also super curious about the ‘endgame’ of the deep state. Just money, power, control from the shadows? Why? 🙏🏼

Thank you for reading, by the way.

Interesting. I’m curious to read Greer’s work and learn more about this. If there are other books you recommend, I’m open.

I personally wonder a lot about the role of non-physical ‘demons’ in our world. I have had quite a few encounters with such entities -- especially on ayahuasca -- and I suspect they exert a lot of influence on Earth. One hypothesis of mine is that many government / deep state players are substantially co-opted by demonic forces. They may not be consciously aware of it -- and probably tell themselves all manner of stories to justify what they do -- but meanwhile they are keeping mankind in a state of forever-war, dis-ease, and scarcity, perhaps because demonic entities feed on our ‘lower emotions,’ or simply enjoy destruction.

A danger of this way of thinking is that it can completely dehumanize the deep state. I don’t want to do so. I like how your piece humanizes the deep state and opens the possibility of empathy/compassion.

Tao, thinking on this further - what do you think the ultimate agenda of the Deep State is? You'd think with these technologies at their disposal they could rule the world. Are they just content to sit back and siphon wealth? What is their end game?

Quite a good follow-up question.

1. Love the Eisler/McKenna reference to Dominator culture

2. I just read something about the ad hoc creation of “dark matter” and “dark energy” and they also used the word ad hoc. IT really made sense. Now I cannot find that article.

3. My uncle worked high up in the Big Pharma industry with a PHD in Chemistry and told me flat out that most peer-reviewed anything needs to be taken with a grain of salt and 100 million dollars. somewhere in mind.

4. The Deep state back doors information through its PR, like you said on Aliens and Alien movies. They did this again in the creation of a TV show called Inside Job.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inside_Job_(2021_TV_series)

This show mentions almost everything you wrote here. By being an angsty/joking cartoon NO ONE credible would ever believe anything that happens in the show. Perfect. This show mentions almost every point you have made here along with a dozen other conspiracies. Rick and Morty accomplishes this as well.

Thanks for writing

Thank you for reading and for sharing these interesting things. Just watched a trailer for Inside Job, looks like a fun show.

It is pretty fun. When you watch it with the idea of Backdooring information through media it is a crash course on conspiracies that are probably based in some truth.

I was just reading about how the government uses Wikipedia data in major decisions and often beefs up Wiki’s of people that are either promoting their ideas or actively dissenting. Both favor them in different ways. Have you ever thought about Wikipedia that way or read a Wiki on yourself?

Thank you for bringing even more of this topic to attention. What can we do? My presumption is that exposing Deep State practices will come much before exposing the names of members. Do you have any ideas for taking first steps unto either gathering concrete evidence of their practices/actions, or any ideas for other directions?

Expand full comment

What can we do

-Consume less mainstream media

-Create culture that values honesty and compassion

-Behave in a non-Deep State-ish manner to people in our lives

-Support people working successfully to expose and educate the Deep State, like Steven Greer

Thought this was really compelling Tao. Enjoyed the fresh take you gave on concepts that have intrigued me throughout my life.

I was curious – with so many books/papers out there, how do you sift through the volumes of irreputable info to find the gems of truth? Just wondering if you can share your process with us readers. Thanks!

Expand full comment

Thank you for reading.

I feel able to discern/sense when a book isn’t telling me credible information from my experience throughout my life with journalism, getting a journalism degree, writing journalism, and from my experiences reading hundreds of books and having a mindset of wanting to seek the truth. I abandon books once I sense it’s not rigorous and not helpful for me building a truer model of the world than I have now. I’ve abandoned many books like this.

Once I start researching a topic, and finding sources that I trust, it becomes easy to find more books/people that I trust because trusted sources have their own trusted sources that I can then turn to.

Expand full comment

Thanks for taking the time to share your process, Tao!

When going through this process, does an author's credentials (education degrees, published peer-reviewed articles, etc.) factor in?

Or have you abandoned books mid-read for such "accomplished" folks as well if you sensed a lack of rigor?

Expand full comment

It depends. Someone with a phd in physics means nothing to me, for example, since I think mainstream physics has been in a dead-end since Einstein. That person loses credibility with me, in terms of physics, unless they've publicly spoken out against their degree and is openly skeptical of what they learned from their professors and textbooks.

For as many topics as I can, I run the information through my own mind to see if it makes sense to me; in these cases, the source’s credentials don’t matter. Often, a source will just be pointing things out, pointing toward findings in scientific papers, or toward architecture, or toward archaeological findings. The person doing the pointing doesn't matter in these cases, it's what's being pointed at.

Generally, I recommend people trust themselves and use their own minds and try to learn things themselves so that they can discern for themselves how true something is instead of needing to go by how credible a source is. This is what I try to do.

Some more thoughts:

-If a mainstream medical journal releases a study that casts doubt on mainstream medicine, it’s extra credible in my view because it means the truth was so strong that it made it through trillions of dollars of resistance.

-If a military or corporate or governmental whistleblower like one of Steven Greer’s whistleblowers is saying that he saw such and such secret project happenings, and mainstream media is not talking to him, he’s extra credible to me, because mainstream media is controlled by the Deep State.

-If mainstream media is maligning someone who criticizes mainstream media or Big Pharma, I extra-don't-believe it this criticism. This has happened a lot with scientists who uncover negative information about vaccines.

-Education to me simply indicates what biases a person has—what they've been taught. But I can't just look at someone's education and make generalizations about them, because there are many people who have turned against what they were taught in college and grad school, like me for example. I have a journalism degree and I disagree with much of what I was taught about journalism.

Hi Tao,

You're one of my favorite authors and artists. You have a very unique worldview which is very valuable. You are not afraid to say what you believe, to try new things, or to point out the wrongdoings of the US Government.

The broad strokes of this essay are definitely something I agree with, but I have to push back on the implication in sections 14, 15, and 16 that the universe is filled with Aether. Just because quantum mechanics are incomplete or even incorrect does not mean that the theory of Luminiferous Aether is correct.

There have been extensive experiments investigating the question of Aether, including the notable Michelson-Morley experiment (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelson%E2%80%93Morley_experiment). None of them have turned up a shred of evidence for the existence of aether.

So in the meantime we have to be content with living with an incomplete and non-comprehensive model of the universe

Expand full comment

The book that most convinced me that there is an aether is Infinite Universe Theory by Glenn Borchardt. His book and work by his colleagues and people on the Dissident Science channel show that the Michelson-Morley experiment actually proved that there is an aether. (This viewpoint is not on Wikipedia.) Nikola Tesla's work has also been compelling for convincing me there's an aether.

Aether doesn't make the universe complete or comprehensive. It actually makes the universe even more complex, because it implies that there are likely even tinier particles smaller than aetherons.

"Just because quantum mechanics are incomplete or even incorrect does not mean that the theory of Luminiferous Aether is correct."

Of course. That's not what convinced me that there's an aether.

there are much more pedestrian explanations for the jfk assassination, 9/11, etc... i don't mean the mainsteam media narratives (which i don't believe, i am in the vincent salandria "false mystery" camp re: jfk), but actually grounded in verifiable facts (when they are available, as they are in the jfk assassination).. but you just jump straight into the deep end with this shit (e.g. judy wood), apparently not realizing it serves discredits the whole 9/11 and jfk assassination truth movements by associating with the most outlandish, repulsive theories.

Expand full comment

I disagree. I didn't "jump straight into the deep end" with Judy Wood. I went through the 9/11 Truther theories and discovered Judy Wood six years later. Her theory seemed more accurate than the Truthers' theory, and she argues compellingly that the Truthers on 9/11 are there to distract from the evidence for directed free-energy technology on 9/11 by pointing toward controlled demolition. The technology is what is most closely guarded.

You're discrediting yourself by calling Judy Wood's theory "repulsive." That seems hyperbolic.

Expand full comment

i think many "mainsteam", "normie" people will be repulsed by her theories, that is the whole point of "shitcoating". but fair, i'm sorry if i come across hyperbolic or aggressive, it is not my intention to get in a pointless flame war, i will try and come up with a cogent reply but need time to craft it...

Tao,

Let me apologize sincerely for the tone of my initial posts. They were aggressive and I used some imprecise language. I'm still working on a response about Judy Wood. I think it will be more of a mini-essay, not addressed to you or anyone in particular. I don't know how soon or if I will finish it - I am still in an outlining/thinking phase.

Tao, have you read the 4chan UFO whistleblower thread?

I haven’t, no.

Oh, you definitely should. It's a legendary thread in UFO lore.

Now, this is 4chan, of course, which brings a major grain of salt. But there's an interesting consistency in the tone and info. And now some potential alignment with recent revelations from Elizondo (i.e. the underwater structure) have brought this post back into focus.

It's one of my favorite pieces to read about UFOs---even if it isn't true. I'm not convinced it's legit, but I'm far from skeptical.

I would love to hear your thoughts.
