Notes on Nini's paralyzation

My cat Nini became paralyzed for unknown reasons last December for around a week. Here are my notes on that time.

December 8

Last night, Nini wasn’t walking well. He could only walk for like 4 feet at a time. I brought him into bed, and he lay there, then he left. I could hear him tumbling against the floor.

Today, I didn’t see Nini. Tonight, while trying to fix the water pump, I called out “Nini” under the house. I heard him meow.

I went under the house with two flashlights. Nini was lying under the center of the house, on rocks. I picked up him, carried him inside.

He could walk even less well than last night. It had gotten worse. He couldn’t stand. His front legs seem to give out, the ends of the legs, which felt wet and cold.

I fed him ground beef, which he liked. I ran out of ground beef. I tried feeding him skirt steak. He e didn’t want it. He ate some cheese.

His backlegs seem strong, and he could move his tail (which has been wagging sometimes as if he’s happy) and his head.

He seems to have “Radial Nerve Paralysis,” which affects the wrist due to nerve damage. I will massage his front legs and see how he feels tomorrow.

Nini slept with me last night, by me, on the brown blanket, folded up, seeming to sleep all night. Occasionally, I turned him over, or held him and let him exercise his legs on me, pushing down with his back legs and then his front legs. He seems to have some use of all his legs, but not much. He has been drooling, leaking water out of his mouth, which explains why his front paws were wet and cold yesterday. I didn’t sleep as well due to concern about Nini.
